About Us
Foundation and Purpose
Founded in 2014 is a trust that incubates partners who build environment management services that preserve the environment, and are financially sustaining. Waste Impact aims to take innovations to grass roots level and improve the livelihoods of the waste pickers and other communities.
Mission
The Trust aims to reduce waste in India, create sustainable urban environments, and engage economically challenged communities in environmental solutions.
Beneficiaries
Our initiatives are designed to uplift marginalized communities, with a special focus on waste pickers. By creating opportunities for safer working conditions, fairer wages, and skill development, we empower these communities to build sustainable livelihoods while contributing to a cleaner, more circular economy.

REIMAGINEWASTE HACKATHON
7th Edition: Tackling Textile Waste
REimagiNEWaste is an immersive hackathon and incubation program pioneered by Waste Impact aiming to co-create innovative inclusive solutions for various aspects of the waste problem. Each year REimagiNEWaste focuses on tackling one aspect of the multifaceted waste problem.
Reimagine waste hackathon is a beautiful marriage of solving day to day waste issues while being inclusive of technological innovations.

The Force Behind the Movement
27 years of experience in fashion marketing & merchandising. Connecting markets in more than 30 countries with leading exporters in India. Also, taught in premier institutions for 10 years, such as NIFT Gandhinagar & NID Ahmedabad, NIFT Bangalore and ALT Training College, Bangalore. Pushed beyond the comfort zone of a job and jumped into the development sector. After about 12 years of learnings from setting up livelihood projects – with Self Help Groups, and with Gram panchayats in safe drinking water sector- founded Waste Impact, a Trust, in 2014.

“E-Waste Reduced and Energy Saved.” This event was part of the mandate from the Central Pollution Control Board, requiring all states to conduct hackathons on waste
REimagiNEWaste Hackathon 5:
The REimagiNEWaste 5 – Plastics & Analytics – was conducted in Ramaiah Institute of Technology with the support of KSPCB Wipro and AMIMED CURA in April 2021
REimagiNEWaste Hackathon 4:
The REimagiNEWaste 4 -Bio Medical Wastewas conducted in collaboration NSRCEL, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in December 2019 for four days

The REimagiNEWaste3 – Water, Waste and Livelihoods – was conducted in colla boration with CPDM, IISc Sept 2018
REimagiNEWaste Hackathon 2:
The Street Food Vendor– was conducted in collaboration with CPDM, IISc in August 2017 for four days
